2024 President’s Letter

Greetings Canada Lakes Community:

After one of the mildest winters in recent memory, with the lake not freezing until well into January, it’s time to focus on another great summer at Canada Lake.

Please renew your membership promptly and support the important events and programs offered by our Association, from preventing aquatic and terrestrial invasive species infestations, to water quality testing to preserve the cleanliness of our waterways, to the Fourth of July fireworks display, to our annual picnic, there are a multitude of worthwhile causes to get behind.

The success of our organization depends upon the many volunteers who donate their time to these great efforts, so I encourage you to join us and lend a hand. Bring along a son, daughter, or grandchild as everyone is welcome.

A few of this year’s highlights include planning for the 100-year anniversary of the Kane Mt. fire tower and compilation of the lake directory both coming in 2025. Also of importance is that NYS will require all legal watercraft operators to have taken and passed a boater safety course and receive their certification by 1/1/25. Google NYS Boat safety course or look for a course offered by the Town this summer.

Happy summer.

Rick Fink,

CLCA President
